Variety reports that Disney Interactive Studios has begun discussing a new Tron video game with developers, with the game thought to be hitting stores to coincide with TR2N, the movie sequel to the classic Disney motion picture.

The movie is tentatively scheduled for a 2011 release and will star Jeff Bridges, Garret Hedlund and Olivia Wilde, with Joseph Kosinski to direct.

The most recent Tron video game, Tron 2.0, was released for PC back in 2003. The Monolith developed title received positive reviews, but is reported to have failed to meet sales expectations. Two classic Tron titles, Tron and Discs of Tron are also available on Xbox LIVE Arcade.
