Free-to-play strategy game Transformers Universe is shutting down on January 31, 2015. Jagex has announced.

As part of the shutdown process, the publisher has begun refunding players who have purchased a Founders Pack, relic bundle or starter pack and closed the registration for new accounts.

“We’re hugely disappointed, but the game will be closing over the coming weeks before its full closure at 10am GMT on 31st January 2015,” said Jagex. “As a team, we can’t thank players enough for the support that they have shown us over the last few years of development, and even more so during our BETA period.”

Transformers Universe saw players choosing to side with the Autobots or the Decepticons in tactical PVP combat. The game entered open beta testing in July.

“Once again we want to thank all of the players that have played Transformers Universe and all those that have worked on the project,” Jagex added.

Existing accounts will be live until March 31, 2015 for any further queries relating to the refund process.
