Update, August 23: Dovetail Games has announced that the release date for Train Sim World: Great Western Express has been moved to September 14.

Original Story, August 22: Dovetail Games has announced that its latest train simulator, Train Sim World: Great Western Express, is on track for an August 24 launch. Starting out at London Paddington terminus, you’ll take the controls as a driver on high speed and commuter trains, going up to 125mph along the Great Western Main Line as you transport punters and adhere to the railway code.

Powered by Dovetail Games’ proprietary SimuGraph vehicle dynamics engine and Unreal 4 technology, Train Sim World uses real world data to accurately replicate the performance, sounds and feel of real trains. Train Sim World lets you drive three very different locomotives, choosing whether to experience the thrill of high-speeds or the pressure of arriving on time.

The player will be able to experience a full ‘day-in-the-life’ of a train driver, in Service Mode, which features a fully replicated 24-hour timetable based on real-world activities; the player can hop on and off a range of train services as they carry out their duties. There is currently no word on whether there’ll be a virtual seat available for Jezza Corbyn on your train.

It was previously announced that Train Sim World would be receiving an enhancement update following the launch of the Xbox One X in November.

Train Sim World: Great Western Express will release on August 24 for Xbox One and PC. There’ll also be an update following the launch of the Xbox One X to provide visual and performance enhancements.
