Ubisoft has announced Toy Soldiers: War Chest, the third title in Signal Studios’ action-strategy series heading to PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC in early 2015.

The new game promises more heroes, missions and playable armies than any previous Toy Soldiers title, with four armies expected to be available at launch, including the German Empire and the new Star Power army, an army of “unicorn steeds, ferocious pixies, flying Pegasus and laser-shooting teddy bears”.

Right…

Laser-shooting teddies aren’t the only twist in the Toy Soldiers tale, though. War Chest marks the first title in the series to be published by Ubisoft, with the previous Toy Soldiers two titles both published by Microsoft Game Studios.

“Partnering with Ubisoft presented an opportunity to create the Toy Soldiers game we had always envisioned,” said D.R. Albright III, founder of Signal Studios. “Gamers of all ages can play as and face-off against toys familiar to them from their childhood to recreate the battles of their imaginations. Fans will have a great time learning how each army plays, and the individual strengths of their troops and weapons.”
