The game is now only weeks from release and Activision has announced that 56 songs will be featured in the in-game soundtrack, including the debut track from the highly anticipated Plus-44 album, “When Your Heart Stops Beating.” Other artists featured in the soundtrack include Wolfmother, Gnarls Barkley and Kasabian.

The Tony Hawk’s Project 8 soundtrack features an eclectic collection of original and licensed music from punk rock and hip hop to metal,” said Tim Riley, worldwide executive of music at Activision. “The music captures the rebellious, off-beat, high energy vibe exemplified in skate culture and in the video game.

Tony Hawk’s Project 8 is scheduled for release in November for Xbox 360, Xbox, PlayStation 2 and PSP. A PlayStation 3 version will also ship at the console’s launch in North America (November 17) and will likely do the same in Europe whenever that happens to be – currently some time in March.
