The official Tomb Raider Instagram account has given fans a “sneak peek” of Lara Croft for her next adventure that is releasing alongside this year’s Game Awards. Lara Croft is one of the most iconic characters of all time, and fans can look forward to Tomb Raider Anniversary joining PS Plus, albeit reportedly at the expense of an LAU trilogy remaster. Crystal Dynamics are developing the next mainline AAA installment set to be published by Amazon Games, but, before it eventually arrives, we will see more of England’s leading lady in her second season on Netflix.
Tomb Raider fans treated to “sneak peek” of Lara Croft for Netflix Season 2
This year Tomb Raider is celebrating its 29th anniversary. Fans in Derby, England, the home of previous developer, Core Designs, were able to attend an unofficial event where they got a glimpse of Tomb Raider Netflix Season 2. Now this “sneak peek” has been shared on Instagram for the entire world to see.
The “sneak peek” provides a look at Lara Croft seemingly in more classic inspired gear. She’s wearing a blue tank top with her trusted backpack, she’s strapped with her belt, and we can only hope she is wearing her trademark cargo shorts that haven’t been seen since the Survivor trilogy reboot began in 2013. She’s also wearing her staple fingerless gloves, and, even though it’s hard to fully confirm, her hair appears to be in a braid rather than a ponytail.
We don’t know the context of the screenshot, but it’s another instance of Survivor Lara transitioning into Classic, at least from a superficial glance. We’ve only been treated to one other screenshot for Netflix Season 2 so far, and that shows Lara rocking her red shades.
Tomb Raider Netflix Season 2 is officially confirmed to premiere December 11th. Interestingly, this is the same date as Geoff Keighley’s Game Awards. We can only hope we will finally see the long-awaited reveal of Tomb Raider 12, especially as Crystal Dynamics teased they “got more coming”. We’ve been burned so many years waiting for the reveal so it would be wise not to get your hopes up.
Aside from Lara’s second Netflix season starring Hayley Atwell, Sophie Turner is confirmed for live-action Tomb Raider on Amazon Prime, and has promised fans Lara is in “very safe hands”.
