Tokobot on the PSP had a lot of promise, but after the initial innovation wore off, it became a little dull and monotonous. Tecmo has now announced that a version of the game is coming to the PlayStation 2, and promises a “totally enhanced and upgraded Karakuri experience.“

Tokobot Plus is said to expand on the PSP title that came before it, with significant upgrades and new elements, as well as graphical improvements over the handheld version. The game will feature ten new action-packed stages, thirty different types of enemy, and a time-attack mode.

One new feature is the ability to absorb enemy attack methods, making it possible to carry out new combination attacks. As you discover treasure throughout the game, you can use this to upgrade the power of combination attacks to inflict more damage on the enemy.

Tokobot Plus: Mysteries of the Karakuri from Tecmo is scheduled for release Q3, 2006.
