Titanfall was the UK’s best-selling game in March, MCV reports, outselling big-hitters Infamous: Second Son and South Park: The Stick of Truth.

Perhaps surprisingly, Thief finished as the month’s second top-seller, ahead of South Park: The Stick of Truth at no.3 and InFamous: Second Son at no.4. The LEGO Movie Videogame was the fifth highest-selling, with FIFA 14, Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes and Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare coming in at no.6, 7 and 8.

Dark Souls 2 was reportedly the ninth best-selling and Call of Duty: Ghosts the tenth.

Release timings will, of course, have made an impact on each game’s position, with InFamous: Second Son releasing a week after Titanfall. Thief, Call of Duty: Ghosts and FIFA 14 were available throughout the month.

Total sales numbers for Titanfall have yet to be confirmed, although global sales for InFamous: Second Son reached 1 million within nine days.

The shooter’s success will likely continue into April, too, having shot back to the top of the charts this week with the Xbox 360 release.

Overall, however, March’s sales figures fell 20 per cent year-on-year, failing to match up to the sales brought on by last March’s Tomb Raider and BioShock Infinite.
