THQ president and CEO Brian Farrell has revealed how he watched the GTA 5 trailer online just like everyone else. Farrell was speaking during an investor Q&A session in which he was asked about GTA 5 and Saints Row: The Third.
“I went online like everyone to see the GTA trailer,” said Farrell. “As you point out, it’s a high quality trailer and I think it’s going to be another fantastic game in the GTA series.”
Farrell doesn’t believe GTA 5 is anything for THQ to worry about as Saints Row: The Third is a very different game, and pre-orders are very strong – the publisher is hoping to sell three million copies of the game in this fiscal year.
“It’s a totally different positioning,” he added, “and if you read the forums it’s like ‘hey, I love GTA, and I love this game because it’s a very different game that knows what it is and is very entertaining.'”

THQ probably doesn’t have much to worry about, with GTA 5 not likely to arrive until the middle of 2012 at the earliest. If anything, people might be looking for an open-city fix after watching the trailer, and turn to Saints Row The Third – which is looking like an excellent game in its own right.
