In the fast-paced gameplay of Marvel Rivals, players are always discovering new ways to win matches, frequently blurring the line between strategic thinking and plain exploitation. With a vivid roster, the game’s intricate mechanics have become a playground for discovering game-breaking techniques, such as trapping enemies in inaccessible map locations and resetting ability cooldowns to gain unfair advantages.
Recent reports have highlighted exploits such as Doctor Strange’s portal shenanigans, in which players imprison opponents inside walls, and Jeff the Land Shark’s ultimate ability combinations, which lock rivals out of limits, rendering them powerless for full bouts. These strategies, while demonstrating player inventiveness, have provoked intense disputes in the community concerning fairness and competitive integrity. NetEase has responded quickly to some issues, but the frequent discovery of new exploits keeps developers on their toes.
Now, a new trick has arisen that is going viral online. It is a spawn-based tactic so potent that it is said to guarantee a win every time it is used. Here’s how it works.
Marvel Rivals’ spawn portal trick lets you find out enemy compositions
Marvel Rivals players often discover genius tricks, but this one takes it a step further by luring in the enemy team and getting them to reveal their entire team composition. In the video shared by FrankieABP on Reddit, the player first lures in their enemies on text chat by letting them know they have Doctor Strange in their team and he’s opening a portal.
While being Doctor Strange himself, the player opens a portal right outside the spawn room near the practice arena where the two dummies are positioned. He places the first portal ring on the ground right in front of the purple enemy room door and the second ring on the roof.
Then, once the enemies are lured in by text chat, they jump endlessly between the two portals, ultimately revealing their entire team character roster. While this simple, yet silly trick is genius, it would help the player’s team to change their characters right before they leave the spawn room to counter the enemy composition and win the match.
Since the method is not yet patched, players are running wild with their own spin on it, where one player suggests a counter: “Just switch to throw picks when you go for the ride, then switch to your actual character, the ultimate bait.” Another chimed in, “Note to self: if I see portal shenanigans, swap characters before joining.”
