In Mario Kart 7 you have the option to take the action into a first-person view and steer your kart using 3DS gyro controls.
Now you’ll be able to go one further by strapping on the officially licensed Mario Kart 7 Steering Wheel from peripheral maker Hori. So far the add-on is only confirmed for release in Japan, but we’re almost certain to see something similar hit European stores.

Mario Kart 7 launches December 2.
Almost certainly a gimmick, but one which could work well in a TV ad – after all, the same thing did wonders for Mario Kart Wii.
