World of Warcraft’s subscribers have “stabilised” at 5.5 million for the quarter ended September 30, but don’t expect Activision Blizzard to discuss this information going forward, chief financial officer Dennis M. Durkin revealed during the publisher’s overnight earnings call.

“Note that this is the last quarter that we plan to provide the subscriber number as there are other metrics that are better indicators of the overall Blizzard business performance,” explained Durkin.

The 5.5 million figure is only down by 100,000 over the 5.6 million stat as of June 2015.

Legion, the next big expansion for World of Warcraft, will be a point of focus at this week’s BlizzCon, with all fans hoping for a release date that isn’t too far off.
