A movie based on the Thief franchise was announced last year, and it seems production company Straight Up Films has let the cat out of the bag about a new game, too.
The blurb on their website describing the history of the Thief series says ‘Widely considered to be one of the greatest games ever created, a fifth sequel is currently in development to be released in step with this motion picture adaptation.’
Whoops.
While many regarded the 2014 reboot to be a solid enough affair, it didn’t set the world alight, leading people to question the future of the series. Well, it sounds like Thief 2 (the fifth game in the series) will be out at the same time as the movie. Square Enix is yet to say anything on the matter, naturally enough.
