Update, August 24: It has come to light that the Pokkén Tournament DX demo is limited to 15 battles only, however there is a way of getting round this unfortunate limitation. You simply need to delete the demo and redownload it, which is obviously a massive faff. But it’s something, right?

Original story, August 23: Pokémon Company has revealed that the Pokkén Tournament DX demo is coming to the Nintendo Switch on August 24. That’s tomorrow, so get ready to unleash those Burst Attacks.

Pokkén Tournament DX is developed by Bandai Namco studios and combines the Tekken gameplay style with characters from the Pokémon universe. Players will be able to control one of 21 Pokémon in battle as they attempt to become champion of the Ferrum Region. Support Pokémon can be called into battle to help a player out, giving them special benefits such as buffs in attack or defense.

The Nintendo Switch port will contain all the content from the Wii U and Arcade versions of the game. The addition of online play enables players to compete in two types of online battle modes called friendly battles and ranked battles.

Pokkén Tournament DX is due out on September 22 for Nintendo Switch.
