Netflix announced during an earnings call that its TV series based on The Witcher will debut in Q4 2019.

Superman actor Henry Cavill will be hopping into the well-worn boots of protagonist Geralt of Rivia, and the series will be plucking most of its influence from the novels from Polish writer, Andrzej Sapkowsk, as opposed to the video game series developed by CD Projekt Red.

While a specific release was not mentioned, Netflix confirmed that The Witcher TV series will debut 'in the last three months of the year.' The show will feature an eight episode run for its first season, and Geralt will be joined in his quest by familiar characters Yennefer and Ciri.

The Witcher is currently shooting across eastern Europe and will premiere in late 2019.
