CD Projekt Red has announced the release of a new patch for fantasy RPG The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt today, bringing with it the ability to play in two new visual modes if you’re the owner of an Xbox One X.
The two modes are 4K Mode and Performance Mode. As the name suggests, the former allows the game to be played in full 4K resolution (or super-sampled if you don’t yet have a 4K capable display) at a rate of 30FPS. Performance mode offers dynamic resolution scaling, but at a frame rate of 60FPS and players can toggle between the two modes at will.
HDR is also supported for both modes, which is one thing over the recent PlayStation 4 Pro update to the game, although that is to be patched in at a later date along with ‘a number of technical tweaks improving the overall experience.’ You can read how to switch between the modes in the official announcement post on The Witcher 3 website.
