The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will be released for Xbox One in 2014, joining already announced versions for PC and PS4, CD Projekt Red has announced.

The generation leap brings open-world gameplay, with the player deciding where to go and what to do – gone are chapters and acts. It’s a big open-world too, said to be around 20 per cent larger than that found in Skyrim, and will take approximately 40 minutes to travel from one end to the other on horseback – with the promise that the new REDengine 3 will eliminate loading.

Geralt returns to protect the world from his arch nemesis, fighting to be reunited with the red-haired sorceress Yennefer. The main storyline, described as more personal than the political tones of The Witcher 2, will be supported by optional quests, with your success or failure affecting the game world.

The Xbox One version will also support Kinect voice commands and SmartGlass.

The Microsoft E3 media briefing featured new gameplay, showing off the visual impressive open world.
