The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Enhanced Edition, an adaptation of the acclaimed PC RPG, will be released worldwide for Xbox 360 on April 17, CD Projekt RED has announced.

“The Xbox 360 version is a complete adaptation of the game to the new platform, we’ve rewritten the code so it feels native to the console. This latest version of The Witcher 2 has been expanded in many ways, and some experts believe it to be one of the best-looking games ever to make it to consoles,” said Adam Badowski, head of CD Projekt RED studio.

The Xbox 360 version features a large number of never-before-seen cinematics, including a brand-new CGI intro sequence directed by BAFTA winner and Oscar nominee Tomasz Baginski.

The console game also boasts new quests and locations, major new NPCs and a new targeting and camera control system.

PC gamers can also expect all the added content as a free update to The Witcher 2.

“PC users who already own the game will be happy to learn that they will be able to download all the added content free of charge. At the same time, the Xbox 360 version will incorporate all DLCs and upgrades made available thus far for the game’s original platform (including the ‘Arena’ arcade mode and Tutorial that were part of the latest and richest PC version)” added Badowski.

The regular Enhanced Edition includes two game discs, a soundtrack CD, quest handbook, world map and game manual.

A “Dark Edition,” which carries a £15 premium, includes all the above content, plus stickers, Witcher medallion, artbook, making of DVD, and a Dark Edition box.
