MTV Games and Harmonix have today announced that twelve songs by legendary band The Who will be released as DLC for Rock Band on July 15, 2008.

The Best of The Who: Rock Band Edition has been compiled by Harmonix and MTV Games in collaboration with The Who guitarist Pete Townshend and lead singer Roger Daltrey. The selection of songs includes classics such as “Amazing Journey,” “Baba O’Riley” and “Sea & Sand,” three songs from the classic Live At Leeds album and more.

“We’re really pleased to have our songs featured in Rock Band,” said Daltrey. “It allows our established fan base to interact with our music in a way that’s fresh and exciting, while also exposing our songs to new audiences.”

Townshend added: “I’m a fan of Rock Band. I play the game with my son and girlfriend and love the way it brings different generations together through music. I like the idea that people of all ages will be having fun playing our songs.”

Each track will be available individually from the PlayStation Store or Xbox LIVE Marketplace or as a better value complete set for $19.99 on PSN and 1600 MS Points from Marketplace.
