The Surge, s sci-fi action RPG from Deck13, will launch May 16 for PS4, Xbox One and PC, Focus Home Interactive has announced.
The confirmed release date is accompanied by a new CGI trailer which aims to showcase the “intense, visceral combat between man and machine”.
The Surge sees playing taking control of Warren, an augmented worker beginning his first day at CREO, the megacorporation on a mission to save a dystopian world from itself.
“Megacorporation CREO works to reverse the devastating effects of climate change, but the facility is hit by a mysterious, catastrophic event,” explains the game’s blurb. “After awakening from a blackout caused by this disaster, Warren is thrust into a deadly new world. Robots gone haywire, insane augmented co-workers and rogue AI – it seems like everything wants him dead.”
