Crows Crows Crows and Galactic Cafe have announced the long-awaited release of The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe will happen early next year.
The expanded version of the 2013 PC game has been in the works for some time, having originally been pegged for a 2019 launch. Fast forward several delays later, and an appropriately humorous video has declared it’ll finally launch on consoles and PC in early 2022.
As for the reason for the delay, it seems like the reimagining has expanded significantly in scope. The game’s writer, Davey Wreden, revealed on Twitter that the script is now longer than the original game. The Ultra Deluxe version has promised more content, more endings and of course, more sass from the game’s omnipresent narrator. It’ll also mark the first time the game’s appeared on consoles.
In case you’re not familiar with The Stanley Parable, you play as regular office drone Stanley. He starts a normal day at work, only to find his co-workers have mysteriously vanished. Needless to say, things only get more bizarre from there, but to say much more would spoil the game.
You can check out the latest trailer down below. Barring any further delays then, The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe should be with us in early 2022. It’ll be available on “all your favourite consoles” as well as PC.
