The Sims 4 is currently in development at The Sims Studio for release on PC and Mac in 2014, EA and Maxis have announced.
The game promises players a deeper connection with the Sims, in what EA stresses will be a “single-player offline experience”.
Players will, however, be encouraged to personalise their game world and share creations with friends and fans.
The Sims has sold over 150 million copies worldwide.
