Ubisoft’s Blue Byte has recently completed work on The Settlers II: 10th Anniversary, a remake of the classic PC strategy game, and is already back to work on yet another Settlers game. This time the studio is working on a fully realised sequel in The Settlers VI (working title) for the PC and is scheduled for release in 2007.

Ubisoft has stated that the new project will be “the best The Settlers game yet,” also adding that it will blend a “mix of favourite elements alongside new developments.” We’re also promised “the best graphics seen in a strategy game to date” – quite a bold claim.

Specific game details are currently sparse, but you can expect the usual city creation, plus a story-based campaign mode. Ubisoft says that details on the game’s new and enhanced gameplay features will be revealed next year.
