The next Super Smash Bros. Ultimate DLC fighter could be from one of SNK’s franchises, as revealed in a listing on Nintendo of UK’s official website (thanks, Game Rant).

The listing for Challenger Pack 4 showed the usual additions to the fighting game; a new fighter, a new stage, and several new music tracks. But underneath the description, there was a copyright notation, ‘©SNK CORPORATION ALL RIGHTS RESERVED’. Twitter user PushDustIn posted screenshots of the listing before it was removed.

SNK is known for its fighting franchises, so the brawlers that could barrel onto the scene are bountiful. Terry Bogard of Fatal Fury is likely, given his popularity. Tekken 7 was graced with Geese Howard, and the iconic baddie boss was welcomed as a solid entry to the roster.  But, Samurai Shodown’s Haohmaru will appear in SoulCalibur VI in its season pass update. He could be taking the scenic route to pop up on the stages of Smash too. And, Nakoruru of Samurai Shodown or Mai Shiranui of Fatal Fury could arrive as a fighter, as both characters are well-liked and would add another female character to round out the Super Smash Bros.

As this is just a rumour, we’ll have to wait and see until the fourth DLC character is announced officially. I’m hoping it’s Rugal. He’s got stylish albeit colour uncoordinated facial hair, a mesh shirt, and a panther companion. This is the energy we need in 2019.
