Sony has released a trailer for the European launch of the new PlayStation Plus, and, as we have come to expect over the years, it’s bonkers.

The trailer is entitled “Mr. Malcolm,” and it follows a sharply dressed gentleman in a suit. He begins eating a meal in a restaurant. Then he buys a steak from a butcher’s shop. Then he gets home, and we realise that they meat is not for him. As he goes, he narrates about living lives—all sorts of different lives—and about knowing who you are.

Check out the new trailer below:

The description reads:

“Does anybody know who they really are? Explore who you can be with the all-new PlayStation Plus. Discover hundreds of games on demand, Classics, Game Trials and more.”

It’s vintage Sony, in that it’s absolutely mental. The idea of knowing who you are and of living multiple lives resonates with an older PlayStation advert. It is titled, simply, “Double Life,” and it heralded the launch of the first PlayStation.

The new advert isn’t quite as good, to be honest. (And neither advert is as good as the one directed by David Lynch.) But it does come loaded with Easter Eggs for you to spot. Some are more subtle than others.

In other recent PlayStation Plus news, Super Stardust Portable snuck its way onto the service this week.
