Sabotage has announced that Picnic Panic, the latest slew of DLC for The Messenger, will launch at some point in 2019.

Picnic Panic will added a bunch of new distractions for the retro-flavoured platform title, including three new stages and extra boss battles. It'll be free to download for PC and Nintendo Switch.

If you haven't played The Messenger and you're a retro fan, then you'll love this. The visuals are particularly gorgeous, switching between 8-bit and 16-bit styles. If you grew up with the NES and SNES, then The Messenger will be like a shot in the arm of pure nostalgic bliss. Or something to that effect, anyway.

The Messenger launched on August 30 for PC and Switch, and won the award for Best Debut Indie Game at last week's The Game Awards.
