Nippon Ichi's The Liar Princess and the Blind Prince is heading to western shores in 2019, publisher NIS America has announced.

The game was originally released in Japan earlier this year for PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, and Switch, although the US and UK version won't be getting the version for Sony's latest portable device.

Known in Japan as Usotsuki Hime to Moumoku Ouji, the puzzle-platformer centres on a pint-sized prince who is blinded by a wolf while skulking around a spooky forest. He's now on the search for a cure, but must be guided through the woods to find it.

The catch? His guide just happens to be the wolf, who is capable of transforming into a Princess at will.

This forms the basis of The Liar Princess and the Blind Prince's core mechanic, as players must switch between the two forms to take advantage of their unique attributes. For example, the wolf excels in sheer strength, while the Princess has wit on her side.

The Liar Princess and the Blind Prince is due out on PS4 and Switch next year.
