The DICE Awards 2018 have crowned Switch exclusive The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild its Game of the Year. The critically acclaimed open-world adventurer fended off some pretty stiff competition for the gong, including Cuphead, Horizon Zero Dawn, and Nintendo’s own Super Mario Odyssey.

Cuphead had a particularly strong result, bagging the awards for Outstanding Achievement in Animation, Outstanding Achievement in Art Direction, and Outstanding Achievement in Original Music Composition.

Meanwhile, PS4’s Horizon Zero Dawn picked up gongs for Outstanding Achievement in Story and Outstanding Technical Achievement, while Breath of the Wild also triumphed in the Outstanding Achievement in Game Design, Outstanding Achievement in Game Direction, and Adventure Game of the Year categories.

Honourable mentions go to Super Mario Odyssey netting the prize for Outstanding Achievement in Sound Design and PUBG winning Action Game of the Year, beating out Destiny 2 and Call of Duty: WWII in the process.
