The Last of Us, PS3’s brutal post-apocalyptic adventure, will not offer campaign cooperative play, developer Naughty Dog has revealed.

“We are supporting multiplayer with The Last of Us,” Naughty Dog creative director Neil Druckmann told Gaming Examiner. “We’re not ready to talk about the details of how multiplayer will be implemented, however we can say that it is not co-op within the main campaign.”

Presumably multiplayer will be some form of competitive mode, but any such mode is still to be revealed.

The Last of Us will be released in 2013.
