Information on The Last of Us’s first DLC will be revealed soon, Naughty Dog has revealed, before teasing the possibility of a sequel appearing at some point in the future.

Discussing the DLC during a Reddit Ask Me Anything last night, creative director Neil Druckmann confirmed “news is on the way about the first DLC drop” and that fans “should hear about it this month”.

It isn’t yet known which type of DLC will hit first, however. The developer is creating two multiplayer DLCs and one single-player add-on for May’s hit survival-action game – the latter of which Naughty Dog is “currently working on”.

Familiar characters will also be making a return in the DLC, Druckmann confirmed.

Game director Bruce Straley added that he felt the DLC is “amazing”. “Just wait!” he said. “We’re happy with what we’ve come up with.”

As well as discussing the DLC, Druckmann also teased the possibility of a new Last of Us title, revealing that the team is “playing with some ideas, but no direction has been set yet for the next game.”

However, he later claimed that he didn’t know what Naughty Dog’s next game would be.

With Gamescom a little over three weeks away, a Last of Us DLC reveal seems a likely possibility for Sony’s show.

Expect more later this month.
