The Last of Us Part II will not be launching in February and will instead be delayed until the spring of next year, according to sources who contacted Kotaku.

Only one month ago, Sony and Naughty Dog revealed that The Last of Us Part II would be released for the PlayStation 4 on February 21, 2020. We had an inkling that it would be set to launch in that time frame, but it was nice to have it confirmed proper. Yet, two individuals close to the project have told Kotaku that the game has been pushed back by Sony. It’ll come out in the spring of 2020 instead, they claimed.

If The Last of Us Part II’s launch has shifted slightly later than expected, it’s not the end of the world. It gives Naughty Dog more time under lessened pressure to work on the game and ensure it’s a sequel worthy of the critically-acclaimed original.
