Pre-orders for The Last Guardian “are exceeding expectations”, product manager Joe Palmer has told MCV.
Speaking ahead of the game’s launch next week, Palmer explained that the publisher had “seen a really positive response to the Collector’s Edition in particular,” which he says proves that there’s a “huge appetite for the game”.
“We’ve tried to avoid fuelling the hype by playing on the fact that people have been waiting a long time for this,” he added. “We want people to be excited because the game looks incredible, not because of its complicated development story.”
The Last Guardian has been in development for almost a decade, and was first announced as a PS3 game back in 2009. It arrives on PS4 in the UK next Friday, December 9.
