E3 no-show The Last Guardian remains in active development, Shuhei Yoshida, president of Worldwide Studios at Sony Computer Entertainment, has told CVG.

“It’s alive and kicking in terms of development,” he said, reassuring fans left wondering if the delayed title had been cancelled.

“If you visit Japan Studio there are lots of people working on it. But as [designer Fumito Ueda] shared with people a couple of months ago, we really want to be confident next time when we introduce The Last Guardian to the public, so we are waiting for that time to come.”

Only yesterday SCEA CEO Jack Tretton said the game was “on hiatus right now”.

If The Last Guardian does ever exit its lengthy development it seems increasingly less likely it will be as a PS3 title – especially given the technical difficulties cited for the delay.
