Bethesda has announced that its planned beta for Fallout 76 will kick off first on Xbox One.

The teaser will come to PC and PlayStation 4 at a later date, although we don't know when the beta will even kick off yet.

Still, if you want in you're going to have to pre-order Fallout 76, as this is the only way you can gain access to the beta.

Fallout 76 is due out on PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One on November 14. In a departure for the post-apocalyptic series, the game will take the form of an online multiplayer romp where players will roam the vast wastelands of West Virginia in the year 2102, some 25 years after a nuclear war ravaged Earth.

Bethesda has said that Fallout 4's settlement mechanic will play a large role in Fallout 76, with players able to cobble together their own base anywhere on the map. There's no NPCs to speak of;  the only folk you'll bump into will be other players.

Those of you into your folklore will be pleased to know that the likes of Mothman and the Flatwoods monster will be rocking up in mutated form.

Fallout 76 will feature a Power Armor Edition for those wanting to splash out on the game.
