The Division’s closed beta has been extended to 11am GMT, tomorrow, February 2, Ubisoft has announced. It had originally only been expected to be live until January 31.
The extra time will offer more players on the waiting list a chance to give it a go, along with pre-order customers who had yet to receive their access key. Additional keys, Ubisoft says, are going out now.
“Over the last few days, we’ve seen an incredible amount of excitement for the game, leading to many of you registering on the waitlist for a chance to join our Closed Beta,” a Ubisoft community manager wrote on the game’s forums. “We’ve been working very hard to let as many players as possible join, while still maintaining a smooth experience for everyone.
“[Yesterday], we announced that we were now inviting as many players as possible from the waitlist, in addition to those who had guaranteed pre-order access. We’ve started sending invites, with priority given to those who signed up first.”
The Division’s closed beta launched on Xbox One last Thursday and on PS4 and PC on Friday. Access was only guaranteed to played who pre-ordered.
We (eventually) played quite a bit of both the PS4 and Xbox One versions last week… once we were able to sign in to Uplay. The Division launches on PS4, Xbox One and PC on March 8.
