Pre-orders for the Xbox One version of The Division have shot up by 531% following yesterday’s news that a closed alpha test is to take place later this week, according to Amazon UK’s Movers & Shakers chart.

The Xbox One version of the upcoming online shooter had previously been the retailer’s 537th best-selling game, but soared up to No.85 overnight. The PS4 version is still ranked at No.572.

Ubisoft announced yesterday that The Division’s alpha will only be available to those who pre-order the Xbox One version of the game or who are lucky enough to secure a place via a waiting list. It will not be available on PS4 or PC.

The alpha, which is due to launch tomorrow, will provide the first opportunity for players to try “a version of The Division that includes more than the Dark Zone PvP enabled area”. Ubisoft stresses, however, that it is “not a final representation of the game”.

Meanwhile, a closed beta test which had been due to arrive on Xbox One later this month will now take place on all formats early next year. The full game is still on track for release on March 8, 2016.
