Xaviant has announced that The Culling II, the follow-up to its blood-thirsty battle royale title from 2016, is out from today on PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One.

The Culling II will set you back $19.99 and has apparently been hitting the gym since its predecessor was on the scene, boasting a number of improvements such as real-world weapon ballistics, brutal melee combat system, and the ability to customise your playstyle with perks.

Other than that, there's not much else to say. You're plonked into a game show-style battle royale, where 50 folks slug it out to become the last man standing. You must kill everyone to do this. As the meerkat from the Compare the Market ad says, 'Simples.'

The question is, will the sequel do enough to differentiate it from the myriad of other battle royale games out there? With PUBG and Fornite pretty much ruling the roost, is there room for more?
