Apple Corps, Harmonix and MTV Games today announced that The Beatles: Rock Band is to be released worldwide on September 9, 2009. The game will be available simultaneously in North America, Europe, Australia, New Zealand and other territories for the Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii.

The Beatles: Rock Band will allow players to pick up the guitar, bass, mic or drums and experience The Beatles catalogue of music on a journey through the celebrated band’s legendary career. Additionally, The Beatles: Rock Band will offer a limited number of new peripherals modelled after instruments used by John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr throughout their career.

The game will be available as standalone software (compatible with all Rock Band instrument controllers and other current music-based game peripherals) or as part of a limited edition bundle. This bundle will carry a $249.99 price tag. Standalone guitars will also be available priced $99.99. Pricing outside of the US is to be announced at a later date.
