The Banner Saga 3, the next chapter in Stoic Games’ Viking-’em-up adventure series, will launch on PC in Summer 2018, the developer has announced. This puts the sequel out far earlier than its original December release window.
Launched on Kickstarter last year, The Banner Saga 3 quickly barrelled past its $200,000 stretch goal, notching up over $400,000 in funds. Development seems to be progressing smoothly, with Stoic releasing a new character trailer highlighting Fasolt, a Varl loyalist who looks like he’d sooner serve you a knuckle sandwich rather than a pint down the local boozer.
Elsewhere, the studio confirmed that it’s signed up franchise staple Austin Wintory to compose the game’s score. In addition, he’ll also be streaming portions from the recording session in London tomorrow, so tune in if you’re interested in seeing him in action.
Right now, The Banner Saga 3 has only been confirmed for PC, but considering previous instalments have hit the PS4 and Xbox One too, we imagine it’ll make its way to consoles at some point.
