20th Century Fox has released a minute long clip of the upcoming Assassin’s Creed movie, offering a closer look at the film’s interpretation of the Animus – the genetic memory machine at the heart of the franchise.
In the video game franchise the Animus is reminiscent of an operating table or dentist’s chair, but filmmaker Justin Kurzel and his team had other ideas for the motion picture.
In the movie the Animus is a giant robotic arm, which let’s face it, is much cooler than the game.

Assassin’s Creed opens in UK cinemas on January 1.
