The Amazing Spider-Man has been confirmed for release by Activision in summer 2012 alongside Sony Picture Entertainment’s upcoming feature film of the same name.

Developed by Beenox, the game brings the action back to New York City and has been created as an epilogue story occurring entirely after the events of the movie. Fans can look forward to the return of free-roaming web-slinging all over the city.

The game’s original narrative has been created by Hollywood writer Seamus Kevin Fahey (episodes of Spartacus: Gods of the Arena and Battlestar Galactica) that continues young Peter Parker’s adventures following the events of the new film.

The world premiere trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man will air during Spike TV’s Video Game Awards – in the early hours of Sunday morning in the UK. The teaser trailer can be seen below.
