Tequila Works has reacquired the rights to its upcoming adventure game Rime, the developer has announced.

“Tequila Works has chosen to reacquire the rights to its adventure game, RiME,” the company said on Twitter, “and is working hard to realise its aspirations for it.”

The news suggests that Sony may no longer have plans to publish the game, which was announced in 2013 as a “first party PS4 exclusive”. If so, the game could end up on other platforms under a different publisher, or self-published by Tequila Works.

The exact status of the game, meanwhile, remains unclear, with little having been seen since 2014.
