Netflix has offered up an August release date for Tekken Bloodline, a new anime based on the hit beat-em-up.

The series will focus on the family that puts the devil in dysfunctional, the Kazama-Mishima family. We’ll be following hero Jin and his quest to avenge his mother, and meets up with plenty of familiar faces from the games. To celebrate the news, there’s a brand new trailer for the show – which you can see for yourself below.

Here’s the blurb: “Jin Kazama learned the family self-defense arts, Kazama-Style Traditional Martial Arts, from his mother at an early age. Even so, he was powerless when a monstrous evil suddenly appeared, destroying everything dear to him, changing his life forever. Angry at himself for being unable to stop it, Jin vowed revenge and sought absolute power to exact it. His quest will lead to the ultimate battle on a global stage — The King of Iron Fist Tournament.”

The team has certainly done due diligence, with roster members from the entire series popping up in the trailer. Nina, Paul and King are all present and correct as well as newer characters like Leroy Smith too.

It’s been a little quiet on the game front for Tekken as of late. The last major release in the series, Tekken 7, is now five years old at this point, although it’s had plenty of post-release action since. With a new entry from rival Street Fighter on the way next year though, maybe it’s time the Iron Fist Tournament made a comeback too?

In the meantime, Tekken Bloodline arrives on Netflix on August 18.
