Sega has pulled a new Team Sonic Racing video out of the garage, offering a look at how the Spikey Speedster and pals can work together to gain the upper hand on their rivals. After all, there's no 'I' in team, and all that jazz.

One of the main tactics you can use is the Slingshot, which sees you riding your mate's slipstream to gain a speed boost. You can also exchange Wisps anywhere on the track using an item box.

A more aggressive manoeuvre is filling your Team Ultimate meter to the max and unleashing a powerful team boost, but you'll need to work together to fill the bar all the way. Lone rangers won't benefit from this at all.

Team Sonic Racing is due for release on PlayStation 4, PC, Switch, and Xbox One later this year. Check out the trailer below.

Sumo Digital has a pretty solid track record with Sonic racing games, as it developed the excellent Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed for last-generation consoles. Sadly, this latest effort won't allow you to drive around on a forklift as Ryo Hazuki, but hey, there's always Big the Cat.
