Nintendo Switch owners will receive the next core entry in the Pokemon RPG series next year, the Pokemon Company has revealed.

While Ninty's hybrid powerhouse will receive a fresh instalment in the series later this year with Pokemon Let's Go! Pikachu and Pokemon Let's Go! Eevee, this isn't the game that the company teased at E3 last year.

That's not coming until the second half of 2019, though no further details were provided.

Speaking during a live stream overnight, Pokemon series bigwig Junichi Masuda commented: 'Now today I can only tell you of its existence, but it's another game we're pouring all of our creativity into.'

Pokemon Let's Go! Pikachu and Pokemon Let's Go! Eevee will be released for Switch on November 16. Right now it's not yet known if the new Pokemon RPG is going to make an appearance at E3, but we'll be sure to keep our ears to the ground.
