PS4 interactive horror game Until Dawn could get a sequel, but events of the game mean it can’t be your traditional follow-up, Supermassive Games managing director Pete Samuels has told PlayStation Lifestyle.

“We do talk internally about what Until Dawn 2 could be, as it clearly can’t be a sequel in the traditional sense, with the same characters facing the same threat, not least of which because in different stories some or all of them are already dead!” explained Samuel.

“We’ve investigated other ways we could do Until Dawn 2 but it probably is a little early to be discussing that.”

You should probably expect another game in the style of Until Dawn before a sequel appears, based on more comments from Samuel.

“I think that you should expect the team to build on what we’ve done with Until Dawn, whether it’s in horror or in other genres,” he said. “We’re already working on one thing that does that, whilst exploring other avenues for our other teams in anticipation of them finishing their current projects.”

Perhaps the Until Dawn sequel could borrow from the American Horror Story formula and bring back actors to play new roles in a different story, or even go down the True Detective route with an all new story and cast which simply uses the same name for brand recognition.
