Capcom has announced Super Street Fighter IV, a new, standalone version of its hit Street Fighter IV game.
The new game, to be sold at retail below full price, features around eight new characters including T. Hawk, Dee Jay and newcomer Juri. Every existing character has also be tweaked based on comments from players and the development team.
Producer Yoshinori Ono is also promising an improved online experience, hinting that a lobby system of some kind will be implemented. However, with all the changes, Super won’t be compatible with the slightly less super original game. Capcom’s hoping the game’s cheap price, together with an unspecified incentive to those who already own Street Fighter IV will help grow the Super Street Fighter IV online community.
The game’s scheduled for release on PS3 and Xbox 360 in spring 2010.
