In the Mailbag section on IGN Wii, the response to a reader question concerning the release date for Super Paper Mario on the GameCube has revealed that the game is no longer being released on the soon to be replaced platform.

In response to the question, IGN’s Matt Casamassina said: “Paper Mario will be headed to Wii and not GameCube.” If true, it will be a bit of a kick in the teeth for GameCube owners not willing to buy the Wii this winter.

Not content with delaying Twilight Princess, so much so that the game has ended up a Wii / GameCube title, Nintendo looks intent on insuring GameCube owners have nothing to look forward to, instead being forced into buying the Wii. Nintendo won’t be the only ones though; Microsoft moved Kameo and Perfect Dark to the Xbox 360 after development started on the original Xbox.
