Team Meat’s Super Meat Boy will be released for PC on November 30, with Steam pre-orders placed from November 23 benefiting from a 33 per cent discount. This means you’ll be paying only $10 for the punishing platformer.
In addition, Team Meat has announced that the Steam edition will exclusively feature a Headcrab as a playable character – he’ll be able to stick to walls and has more horizontal jumping power.
Non-Steam purchases will feature a Goo Ball from World of Goo! as a playable character.
It’s also worth pointing out that the launch promotion on the Xbox LIVE Arcade version of Super Meat Boy ends this week, meaning you have until November 21 to snap up the title for the low price of 800 MS Points.
It’s a shame gamers won’t be able to get hold of both the Headcrab and the Goo Ball, meaning PC gamers will need to decide which character they’d rather have access to. The exclusive character reveals have, however, provided Team Meat with some great publicity in the build up to the game’s launch on PC.
In the end the 33 per cent pre-order discount offered on Steam will likely be a bigger attraction than the Headcrab.
