Suikoden first appeared back on the PlayStation ten years ago, and Suikoden V is said to be a “celebration of all that is good about the series,” adding a host of new ideas to the franchise. The game will take players to new continents within the lands of Farlena, as you embark on a quest to collect a magical rune that will restore balance to the troubled world.

As the game’s hero you must recruit up to 108 followers from the characters you meet on your epic quest, picking allies with unique skills to join you. Once you have secured a strong following it is time for the final battle to bring peace back to the land. How the game ends depends very much on how the player fares in the time given.

Suikoden V is scheduled for release for PlayStation 2 in autumn, 2006.
